The Canape Catwalk

27 Sep

This week saw us at the first of the ISESTALKS season which was held at The Louise Blouin Foundation in White City.  Our very own Cecilia Lavin was there to welcome guests, as she is the Director of Membership for ISES UK (International Special Events Society), to the Louise Blouin Foundation where we provided a canapé reception.  To help us serve the delicious food to the guests were the wonderful staff from Front of House, one of our preferred staffing agencies. As well as the equipment we used being supplied by Well Dressed Tables, another one of our preferred suppliers and also a member of ISES UK.

As one of west London’s fashion HQs, the Louise Blouin Foundation was the perfect venue to host this fashion centred event.  Highlights of the evening included Amy Gibson, Director of Events at Louise Blouin Foundation, talking us through the history of the building and highlighting some of the events that have been held there. Darla Jane Gilroy, Director of The Future Perfect and also being a designer, lecturer and trend commentator, who being at the forefront of fashion and pop culture gave us the low down on her career and business and the top brands she’s worked with.

To top it all ISES hosted a fashion catwalk show whilst we supplied the guests with some sumptuous canapés and bowl food.  Some of our classic and favourite canapés were strutting their stuff on their own catwalk with bright colours and great style. Like our Saffron stained quail eggs served with a celery salt dip, Seared tuna with Wasabi and Tobiko or spiced sumac lamb with a feta cheese and olive salad on an edible spoon.

All the guests really enjoyed the bowl food as well, like the beetroot risotto topped with Parmesan flakes and cress or the griddle Peach and Mozzarella Salad with air dried parma ham served in a cup and saucer.  See the picture of our statuesque plum glazed salmon with oriental string vegetables and seaweed.  I definitely think our food went well with the highly fashionable event going on at this great venue.
